We did it and here is what we built: IFOS Methodological Guide

As part of the actions towards M8,2022, on March 4, one year after the inauguration of the Berta Cáceres International Feminist Organizing School (IFOS) and six since the femicide of Berta Cáceres, we launched the IFOS Methodological Guide.
The Berta Cáceres International Feminist Organizing School Guide is the compilation of a set of feminist popular education tools that were developed and put into practice during the IFOS. Its compilers define it as "a labor of love, implemented, practiced and taught by grassroots feminist leaders, discussed and studied by School participants and fueled by grassroots struggles around the world”.

The launch featured interpretation in French, English, Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic, a language justice practice, which is basic principle of WMW feminism.

Sandra Moran, iFOS coordinator, started the event and in her speech highlighted the way in which, from experiences like the IFOS, “a strong feminist movement is built, a strong proposal of feminist economics that puts life at the center, that puts dignified lives at the center”.
The IFOS was held in 2021, an initiative of Grassroots International (GGJ), the Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN) and the World March of Women (WMW), and in the course of 20 weeks and 16 virtual sessions in 4 languages, explored core themes for the international articulation of grassroots feminism. 120 students from 38 countries participated, coming together from all regions of the world to collectivize their banners, socialize strategies and build common ways of communicating and organizing ourselves.
Cindy Wiesner, GGJ’s leader, reminded the listeners that the objective of the IFOS is to articulate a feminist political project around feminist economics as a strategy of rupture with the multiple domination model to which we are exposed.
Just as Berta did not die but multiplied, the IFOS multiplies in 2022 in the different regions of the planet and the Methodological Guide is there to support and strengthen these processes.
