A tour of Capire from the Americas

ImagenTodas Unidas Laura Franca. Galería de Afiches Capire
Capire is a communication tool created in 2021 to amplify the voices of women in the movement, to give visibility to the struggles and the processes of organization in the territories, to reinforce local and international references to popular, anti-capitalist and anti-racist feminism.
Capire means "to understand". Through the eyes and voices of women we understood the world. With feminism, we transform it! We conduct and communicate interviews, analyses, stories of experiences and cultural expressions from all corners of the globe that resist and transform the world.
Here we gather the latest publications in Capire on the struggle of women in the Americas:
Danixa Navarro and Rocío Alorda wrote a story about what is happening now in Chile, after the victory of the left and social movements in the election of the Constituent Convention.
In a video, Friends of the Earth Brazil and the World March of Women explain how free trade assaults life in the global South.
On May 11, Real World Radio (Radio Mundo Real) interviewed Marylen Serna, peasant leader of the Department of Cauca and spokesperson of the People’s Congress. The interview was transcribed and edited, and can be read in Capire.
Kathia Ramírez’s contribution, from the Agricultural Workers’ Support Committee (Comité de Apoyo a Los Trabajadores Agrícolas, CATA) in the webinar "Migrations and refuge in the feminist agenda” was published in text and audio. Kathia talks about migrant and farmworker grassroots organizing in the USA.
Comrade Marilys Zaya wrote a report about the role of women in vaccine production in Cuba.
In an interview, Pancha Rodríguez, of CLOC-Vía Campesina, talks about the trajectory of the rural women’s struggle in the Americas.
These are the latest publications on the Americas, but there is much more to read, see and listen to. Visit capiremov.org, follow @capiremov on social media and subscribe to Capire’s Telegram channel and weekly bulletin.
